Makeup Haul

dav

I’m trying to remember when was the last time I actually bought makeup, it’s been quite some time. Last year I was pregnant and I didn’t bother wearing makeup during that long journey, so I can safely say my makeup products were expired. After throwing most of them, I finally bought new items that I’m very excited to share my experience in a long-waited makeup post.

Maybelline Superstay 24H Setting Spray

I forgot to include this spray in the picture, I apologize for that. I’ve been a fan of Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray and it’s probably the only one I used ever since I learned how to properly do makeup so trying something new was a huge step for me.  One of the things I hated in Urban Decay’s setting spray would be the smell, I’m glad to say that this spray doesn’t have that smell which I appreciate. The spray locked my makeup the entire time I was at work and may I add it’s also matte-fying, so I’m going to give it 10 extra points for that.

NYX Lip Lingerie (Embellishment & Cashmere Silk)

Now I know I have almost 100 nude shade already but is it ever enough? I can call myself a certified nude lipstick collector from the amount of lipsticks I have. I got two shades from the Lingerie line which are 02 Embellishment and 18 Cashmere Silk. Embellishment is mostly purple but it’s not that intense, as it’s described as a muted purple. I wouldn’t really wear it everyday for example work but I would wear it if I’m going out with my friends if I’m thinking to be a little bit extra and I needed some attention. While Cashmere Silk is mostly beige with a slight visible pink which I can tell you my favorite nude shade and I’ve been wearing it to work recently. The formula of these lipsticks is very creamy and it’s definitely long-lasting, it stayed in place for hours and didn’t smudge after it dried on my lips.

Maybelline Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick

I’ve never really used sticks for contouring so this would be my first time, and it made me convert. It’s very easy to apply on the areas you want to contour from both sides of the stick and since it’s very creamy I used a contour brush to blend it,  and it came out looking nice on my face.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Highlighter (Soft & Gentle)

I never thought that I’ll reach the day that I’ll buy something from MAC, I’ve always viewed this brand as luxurious and out of my league. This highlighter was recommended to me by my cousin so I decided to get it in Soft & Gentle shade because it looked more natural for me to apply as I don’t like glowing like I’m one of the vampires from Twilight movies. I am insanely in love with it already, it’s the perfect finish I need for my look as it gives that subtle shimmer and glow.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer

I didn’t really depend on concealers before, so now that I have a baby my dark circles are showing generously from the lack of continuous sleep. I chose this concealer because it claims to be a treatment as well for fine lines and dark circles, and it does fulfill that purpose of erasing dark circles under the eyes. It’s easy to blend with a brush or a blender.

L’Oréal False Lash X-Fiber Mascara

I usually avoid those two step mascaras because part of me thinks they are just a glorified normal mascaras that charge more, I only got it because my sister recommended it to me and also I wanted to test out the Fiber side of it. The mascara is double sided, the first step works as a black primer which thickens the lashes with volume then the second step comes to lengthen the lash with fibers and give the lash more of a long lush fix. I think I’m fine with using the first step wand as a mascara and that’s it, the second step adds fibers and it can slowly fall around the eye to be honest so I wouldn’t say it’s the best mascara I tried.

Overall, I honestly missed shopping for makeup like this. Hopefully I’ll keep this momentum and post more makeup related entries, hope you enjoyed this post and have a nice day.

ACW All Cosmetics Wholesale Haul

I recently posted about a website that I would consider a Sephora alternative, I mentioned that I’ll do a proper haul post of the things I bought from this website. I have few comments about some products I got from this website which I’ll mention later, this post isn’t sponsored in any way.

NYX Shine Killer ($14.00)
The first product is a primer that keeps your face matte if you have an oily skin. To be honest, it doesn’t work on everyone as I read mixed reviews about this.

GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment ($49.99)
This mud mask is one of the over-hyped beauty products in my community so I bought it because I want to understand the hype. I’ll admit it’s a great mask but I’ve used similar type of masks and they were less pricey than this one. I’ll comment though on the product that it’s a tester which is stated in their website “Jar is a tester unit, it has never been tested or used. No box”

URBAN DECAY Shadow Primer Potion – Original ($9.99)
Again, one of the over-hyped products but honestly it’s worth it. It keeps the eyeshadow in place for a long time and minimizes any creasing on the lids  The wand is definitely useless and it’s driving everyone insane. My comment about this product like the previous one is also stated in their website “Tubes have scratches due to being unboxed.”

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – San Paulo ($6.00)
NYX matte lip creams are my favorite at the moment, I’ve been already obsessed with Cannes shade so I decided to try out different shades. This shade is more of a red shade than a nude but it’s quite light and it can give a pink tint when it’s evened out with fingers.

NYX Butter Gloss – Creme Brulee ($5.00)
I’ll confess something, I ordered this because of Karalee’s review post. I’m so in love with this, it’s not that super shiny gloss which is a plus point for me. I love how it leaves my lips soft and smooth, since it doesn’t last long I decided to mix it with another product and it worked well.

L.A. GIRL Matte Line Art Eyeliner – Intense Black ($9.00)
I’ve been fangirlling (is that even a word ?) over Kat Von D Tattoo Liner for the longest time, I absolutely love that eyeliner. I decided to try out a new eyeliner I never tried before which is the L.A. Girl eyeliner and I’m in love. It’s almost similar to Tattoo liner, dries fast and it’s easier to line the lid without messing it up if you have shaky hands.

CAILYN Pure Lust Extreme Matte – Nudist 09 ($19.00)
Honestly I’ve never heard of this brand, I don’t know anyone who tried it as well so I wanted to try it because .. it’s nude and matte, enough said. It’s nude alright but has a slight pink tint to it, gets the matte effect fast enough therefore I like it.

L’OREAL Youth Code Texture Perfector Serum ($12.99)
I’ve always used serums for my face as part of my skincare routine, I found this product and I wanted to give it a try because it’s also like a moisturizer. From the first use I instantly felt the effect, it got absorbed fast and it left my skin really soft. It closes obvious pores which I liked the most about it, I’ll continue using it everyday as part of my skincare routine and see how it goes.

URBAN DECAY Lush Lash Mascara ($16.99)
I’m a total mascara hoarder, having this amount of mascaras satisfies me. This mascara has officially became my favorite from the day I first tried it, it doesn’t give you spider lashes from the first use. It lengthen the lashes and give them a fuller look, it makes the eye look gorgeous to be honest. The website stated “full size, no box” but like I mentioned in a post with my first impression of this website, it seemed unused even though it didn’t come in a packaged box.

L.A. GIRL Matte Pigment Gloss – Dreamy ($6.00)
This liquid lipstick is so beautiful, I needed to take a moment to admire it when I tried it for the first time. The color is definitely darker than the Cailyn one I mentioned earlier, it gives a beautiful shade with matte effect and it’s long lasting. I barely felt it on my lips after using it and doesn’t smudge at all.

NUJN8221_Fotor.jpg

I paid overall total $148.96 plus $13.50 for shipping. It came really fast and it was well packaged in a box. Other than the comments I mentioned, the website sells authentic makeup products and I honestly like it, will probably buy the rest of my makeup from it if they bring Kat Von D products.
