nomakenolife – Feburary 2019

dav

Yay new subscription box to try.

I’ve always been a fan of Korean and Japanese beauty products, I tried Kira Kira Crate before and I absolutely loved it. I decided to try nomakenolife -odd name I know- since I recently canceled my subscription to YumeTwins.

Crayon Touch me Lip Gloss in Shiny Orange (Japan)

I feel so giddy seeing a lip gloss, it’s been such a long time since I used one. The shade is a subtle orange shade which goes perfectly on top of any lipstick color and gives it an extra shine.

Sparkling Eye Gloss in honey gold (Japan)

Eye glosses make life easier, they are easy to apply and work with. The shade is golden-champagne with a pretty shimmer, can be used as a base along with other eyeshadows as it blends really well.

Etude House Eyebrow Pencil (Korea)

This pencil came at the perfect time, I’ve been needing one to define and fill my eyebrows and this pencil does this function pretty well. I never really tried Etude House products so this would be an introduction to me, so far I can say I like it.

Cotton Pads (100pcs) (Korea)

I use cotton pads for a lot of things, makeup removing or nail polish so it’s a pretty useful pack.

Savon De Chocolate Soap (Japan)

This soap is a whole different level, it actually looks and smells like hot chocolate, if I didn’t read the package I would have ate it already. It smells so good and I was afraid to eat-I mean use it, it’s creamy and it left my skin moisturized and hydrated.

Fascy Moisture Bomb Hand Cream (Korean)

I love keeping hand creams in my bag, and this cream came in my favorite scent which is peach. I really love the smell, it’s also very lightweighted and not runny like the usual hand creams I tried before.

G9Skin Milk Bomb Face Mask in Chocolate (Korean)

Again something with chocolate and it smells so delicious. I love Korean sheet masks, I always use them as the perfect ending of the day when my kids sleep and I have time to pamper myself. The mask left my skin hydrated and smooth, I would totally buy more of these.

Flower Puff in Pink

The last item is a powder puff that comes with a pretty flower on top where the applicator strap is, it’s soft which is great to be used with foundation or loose powder. Honestly, it looks too pretty to be used.

Overall, I have mixed feelings about this because I like some items and I feel they fit the theme and some don’t, like the cotton pads but I enjoyed most of the box items and I would continue my subscription for a while.

YumeTwins – August 2018

IMG_20180809_001557_Fotor

I was in a debate between getting Doki Doki crate from Japan Crate since I already tried Kira Kira Crate from them and I absolutely love it, or getting this box because they both looked pretty similar with the Kawaii aesthetic. I decided to go for YumeTwins (get $5 off your first YumeTwins box) because it the items looked pretty appealing to me more than Doki Doki and I just went for it, along with TokyoTreat. I’m not sure if I’ll post a food related subscription boxes unless you’re interested in that then let me know.

YumeTwins is a monthly kawaii box which includes 6-8 kawaii items ranging from plushies, squishies, practical goods, kawaii stationery & more. For August theme, it focuses on “Dream Land” and it came at a perfect time since I’m 8 month pregnant now and I can’t get comfortable to sleep well.

Kawaii Sanrio Notebook

I love Sanrio designs so I was so excited to see this cute notebook, the front design is just too adorable as well as the papers inside. I’m more forgetful these days because of my pregnancy so this comes handy in writing my everyday to-do list instead of depending on my phone most of the time.

Sleepy Pokémon Cable Protector

I was praying to get Vulpix in this box when I saw the spoilers of August box but I got Pikachu, still cute so I won’t complain. It’s such a distraction to sleep while charging your phone and seeing a cute Pokémon sleeping like this on the cable, it’s written “For iPhone” I didn’t honestly try it with my cable since I got an Android phone but I assume it can hold both Android and iPhone cables since they are in the same size.

Relaxing Puffy Plushie

The moment I opened the box and my son saw this plushie, he got so excited and said “bun bun”. This plushie is incredibly soft and adorable, when you push the tummy it let’s out a cute sound.

Kawaii Animal Bookmark

I love collecting bookmarks, I think I mentioned that in every OwlCrate post. This adorable Monkey bookmark include sticky notes to put on certain pages if you want to go back to them later on.

Sumikko Gurashi Wash Towel

I’ve been wanting to get a wash towel this size for my face to use when I’m done with my night skincare routine. The design is also adorable almost to the point I don’t want to use it and just stare at it.

Mini Cooling Pillow Cover

You call this mini ? It’s perfect for me. The fabric is amazing and very soft, it instantly give you a cold sensation when you run your hands on it. It’s very comfy and helpful for my current condition, my lack of sleep needs such kawaii-ness to ease my growing pains.

Overall, wow I’m in love with this subscription box already. The items are all adorable and fits the Dream Land theme, I will definitely continue my subscription with this box.

Kira Kira Crate – July 2018

IMG_20180728_000626_Fotor.jpg

I posted in May my first Kira Kira Crate and I’ve been in love with it, June rolls around and I changed my address to Oman because I thought maybe it’ll be easier and cheaper instead of using that cursed shipping company. Well, I was wrong and I never really got June box and I was just sad that I have to go back to that shipping company again just to get my packages.

Jumping to July, I got my package of course after paying extra fee but I guess I deserved it. I cancelled my subscription after this box because I wanted to try something new and I might return back to this box anyway because I really enjoyed it. What I loved about this box is that all the items are connected to each other and makes a whole process of skincare routine.

Bub Bub Sponge

This adorable sponge is just too cute for me to use, it has silicon ends and it helps with exfoliating and bubbles up the foam of the cleanser you apply on the lower part.  Like I said earlier the products are connected so the next one is the cleanser you can use with this sponge.

Aloe Face Wash

I love aloe based skincare products and this one isn’t any different, I love how it smells and it felt so refreshing.

This duo was a fun experience for me to try compared to the usual skincare routine I always do, I would love to try a different face wash with this sponge.

Collagen and Vitamin C Lotion

I’m not sure why it’s called lotion because it’s definitely a toner to me. I love using vitamin C serums, I always make it part of my skincare routine and like the previous products it’s paired up with a rather interesting mask.

Compressed Sheet Masks

So this thing just blew my mind, they are small heart shaped tablets which absorbs toners or any liquid and they grow all the sudden to be a sheet mask.

Just like this video, I used the toner and dropped one of the tablets to create a vitamin C sheet mask and I liked how my face felt after using it. The toner can be used alone as well with cotton pads, as well as the sheet masks they can be customized with different toners and face products that can absorbed by those small tablets.

Cheek Roller

As a final step from all those skincare products, this cheek roller is a perfect ending. It helps improve blood circulation and enhancing collagen, and it gives you the perfect massage for your cheeks before going to bed.

Overall, I’m kinda sad that I cancelled this subscription box. I really love everything they sent out so far, mostly because they are such interesting products to try out and also I think Asian skincare products are the best. I will definitely consider resubscribing soon, I highly recommend this subscription box.

Kira Kira Crate – May 2018

I’ve been a fan of Glossybox for a pretty long time, but recently I’ve been getting disappointed from the items they sent out in the boxes that eventually made me deactivate my account again. I wanted to try something new and I found Kira Kira Crate, I’ve been into Asian cosmetics for awhile and I think their skincare products are the best so why not try it every month and see how it goes?

IMG_20180522_234342_Fotor

The crate comes directly from Japan so it takes time to arrive, say about 2 to 4 weeks. It contains 6 full sized items along with a cute booklet that has the instructions of every item in English and tips on how to use them.

IMG_20180522_234639_Fotor

Bath Salts

You could guess from the package, it’s honey and lemon. Of course it smells citrus-y and I appreciate anything that makes me relax in my bathtub.

Moasis Oil Milk

A hydrating oil milk that has cactus oil. It doesn’t get absorbed by the skin fast, and also it has a sticky feeling after using it so I didn’t like it that much.

Paper Soap (Rose)

A cute little package that has 50 sheets of paper soap. This is something completely new to me and I was mind blown about this. It can be kept in your bag so you would have soap whenever you need it.

IMG_20180522_234724_Fotor

Hot Eyes Mask

The package include 3 sets of eye masks and it comes with a cute polar bear with glasses design. Honestly I didn’t think it would get this warm when I put it on my eyes, it was very soothing and smells like lavender which is my favorite. I absolutely LOVE this.

Organic Mask (Chamomile)

I love those masks, they are always so soothing to use before going to sleep. It helped calming down my skin and I love how my face feels after it.

Black & Shiny Eyeliner

Even Japanese packaging look cute, this eyeliner got a leopard design and the tip is a bit bulky for what I’m used to. It has a slight glitter on it once you apply it but it gets smudged easily so I wouldn’t say it’s long lasting. I would add it on top of my usual eyeliner if I need a little shimmer on my eyes for a night out.

IMG_20180522_234845_Fotor

Overall, I would say I’m interested in Kira Kira Crate and I’ll keep my subscription for a while to see what more they have to offer in the upcoming months. I hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to know if you tried any of Japan Crate subscriptions.
