Makeup Haul

dav

I’m trying to remember when was the last time I actually bought makeup, it’s been quite some time. Last year I was pregnant and I didn’t bother wearing makeup during that long journey, so I can safely say my makeup products were expired. After throwing most of them, I finally bought new items that I’m very excited to share my experience in a long-waited makeup post.

Maybelline Superstay 24H Setting Spray

I forgot to include this spray in the picture, I apologize for that. I’ve been a fan of Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray and it’s probably the only one I used ever since I learned how to properly do makeup so trying something new was a huge step for me.  One of the things I hated in Urban Decay’s setting spray would be the smell, I’m glad to say that this spray doesn’t have that smell which I appreciate. The spray locked my makeup the entire time I was at work and may I add it’s also matte-fying, so I’m going to give it 10 extra points for that.

NYX Lip Lingerie (Embellishment & Cashmere Silk)

Now I know I have almost 100 nude shade already but is it ever enough? I can call myself a certified nude lipstick collector from the amount of lipsticks I have. I got two shades from the Lingerie line which are 02 Embellishment and 18 Cashmere Silk. Embellishment is mostly purple but it’s not that intense, as it’s described as a muted purple. I wouldn’t really wear it everyday for example work but I would wear it if I’m going out with my friends if I’m thinking to be a little bit extra and I needed some attention. While Cashmere Silk is mostly beige with a slight visible pink which I can tell you my favorite nude shade and I’ve been wearing it to work recently. The formula of these lipsticks is very creamy and it’s definitely long-lasting, it stayed in place for hours and didn’t smudge after it dried on my lips.

Maybelline Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick

I’ve never really used sticks for contouring so this would be my first time, and it made me convert. It’s very easy to apply on the areas you want to contour from both sides of the stick and since it’s very creamy I used a contour brush to blend it,  and it came out looking nice on my face.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Highlighter (Soft & Gentle)

I never thought that I’ll reach the day that I’ll buy something from MAC, I’ve always viewed this brand as luxurious and out of my league. This highlighter was recommended to me by my cousin so I decided to get it in Soft & Gentle shade because it looked more natural for me to apply as I don’t like glowing like I’m one of the vampires from Twilight movies. I am insanely in love with it already, it’s the perfect finish I need for my look as it gives that subtle shimmer and glow.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer

I didn’t really depend on concealers before, so now that I have a baby my dark circles are showing generously from the lack of continuous sleep. I chose this concealer because it claims to be a treatment as well for fine lines and dark circles, and it does fulfill that purpose of erasing dark circles under the eyes. It’s easy to blend with a brush or a blender.

L’Oréal False Lash X-Fiber Mascara

I usually avoid those two step mascaras because part of me thinks they are just a glorified normal mascaras that charge more, I only got it because my sister recommended it to me and also I wanted to test out the Fiber side of it. The mascara is double sided, the first step works as a black primer which thickens the lashes with volume then the second step comes to lengthen the lash with fibers and give the lash more of a long lush fix. I think I’m fine with using the first step wand as a mascara and that’s it, the second step adds fibers and it can slowly fall around the eye to be honest so I wouldn’t say it’s the best mascara I tried.

Overall, I honestly missed shopping for makeup like this. Hopefully I’ll keep this momentum and post more makeup related entries, hope you enjoyed this post and have a nice day.

Four Seasons of Pregnancy Fashion

One of the reasons I love being pregnant is having the excuse of refreshing my wardrobe. I love shopping for clothes, it gives me a rush of trying different styles and having something new basically. I don’t necessary always choose maternity clothes, plus size and larger sized clothes are good enough for me. The best part about them, I could reuse them after I give birth but in a different way, like adding a belt and showing off how your waist slimmed down after pregnancy.

When it comes to pregnancy clothes, I always choose dresses. I feel they are more comfortable to wear for everyday more than pants, like I said before I can use them later on after pregnancy but as for maternity pants I feel they are only useful for few months then that’s it. I think dresses are more adaptable for body changes compared to pants, I’ll say it’s a preference in the end.

On the journey of 9 months, you go through seasons worth of clothes so I decided to list dresses appropriate for each season during your pregnancy. All the dresses listed in this post are offered in many sizes from S to 4XL so whether your pregnant or not, you can easily find your size.

This post is sponsored by Talever

Spring

When you think of Spring, you always have a floral designed dresses in mind.

I personally go for these dresses online because it’s very comfortable, the lace ribbon can be tied on the chest area leaving space for your belly to grow. If you’re going for more of a modest style, you could wear a pair of leggings and it’ll still look pretty nice.

Summer

For Summer, I always go for bohemian maxi dresses or beach dresses maxi styled dresses.

I think polyester is a great material, mostly because it’s stretchable. Like this dress, it’s gonna help you cool down in the summer heat and won’t make your bump feel uncomfortable since the material would be stretchable.

Fall

I think fall got a stigma of having more of a dark colored clothes, it somehow feels more fitting with the weather getting colder.

This dress is one the examples I mentioned earlier, you could use it after pregnancy when you add just a small accessory like a belt and it’ll look something different. I would wear this with a thick pantyhose, and I think it would be good to wear even in winter.

Winter

The transition from fall to winter fashion isn’t much, if the climate get more colder you could always wear something on your dress. I would personally go for a cotton cardigan, I feel they fit pretty much any style.

Now I would go for this gorgeous dress because it’s long enough to keep my legs warm and I can adjust the tight waist part to go above my pregnant belly. It can be used as a formal dress as well while staying comfortable.

I hope you enjoyed this selection of dresses I would recommend getting whether you’re pregnant or not, the site Talever offers those dresses in all sizes so I’m sure you’ll find your size in something you like. Let me know what do you think in the comments below.

Kira Kira Crate – May 2018

I’ve been a fan of Glossybox for a pretty long time, but recently I’ve been getting disappointed from the items they sent out in the boxes that eventually made me deactivate my account again. I wanted to try something new and I found Kira Kira Crate, I’ve been into Asian cosmetics for awhile and I think their skincare products are the best so why not try it every month and see how it goes?

IMG_20180522_234342_Fotor

The crate comes directly from Japan so it takes time to arrive, say about 2 to 4 weeks. It contains 6 full sized items along with a cute booklet that has the instructions of every item in English and tips on how to use them.

IMG_20180522_234639_Fotor

Bath Salts

You could guess from the package, it’s honey and lemon. Of course it smells citrus-y and I appreciate anything that makes me relax in my bathtub.

Moasis Oil Milk

A hydrating oil milk that has cactus oil. It doesn’t get absorbed by the skin fast, and also it has a sticky feeling after using it so I didn’t like it that much.

Paper Soap (Rose)

A cute little package that has 50 sheets of paper soap. This is something completely new to me and I was mind blown about this. It can be kept in your bag so you would have soap whenever you need it.

IMG_20180522_234724_Fotor

Hot Eyes Mask

The package include 3 sets of eye masks and it comes with a cute polar bear with glasses design. Honestly I didn’t think it would get this warm when I put it on my eyes, it was very soothing and smells like lavender which is my favorite. I absolutely LOVE this.

Organic Mask (Chamomile)

I love those masks, they are always so soothing to use before going to sleep. It helped calming down my skin and I love how my face feels after it.

Black & Shiny Eyeliner

Even Japanese packaging look cute, this eyeliner got a leopard design and the tip is a bit bulky for what I’m used to. It has a slight glitter on it once you apply it but it gets smudged easily so I wouldn’t say it’s long lasting. I would add it on top of my usual eyeliner if I need a little shimmer on my eyes for a night out.

IMG_20180522_234845_Fotor

Overall, I would say I’m interested in Kira Kira Crate and I’ll keep my subscription for a while to see what more they have to offer in the upcoming months. I hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to know if you tried any of Japan Crate subscriptions.

GlossyBox – March 2018

IMG_20180318_231722

Hello April, hello Easter and helloooooo GlossyBox.

I hope you are all doing well. Honestly I wanted to post about Tales of Berseria since I recently beat the game and I wanted to outline my thoughts about it but I noticed that beauty related posts does a lot better which stresses me out since I don’t want to start focusing on numbers and how my posts attract traffic. I’ll post it anyway on Thursday, I still want to post about games.

Anyway here’s my review for March GlossyBox …

IMG_20180318_231836

FORM – Multitask. Leave-In Lotion

A hair product yay. I honestly love the smell of this, it’s very light-weighted. It left my hair softer and more easier to manage when its having the dry days. I would actually go for the full size of this, that’s how much I love it.

Figs & Rouge – Soft Focus Pore Perfect HD + Matte Veil

I didn’t use it, I gave it to my sister so I’m taking her words for it. It did make her skin smooth as a base for her foundation but didn’t help much with the shine and it felt patchy after awhile so she wouldn’t recommend it. Let me know if you got a different result.

IMG_20180318_231922

De Bruyère Beauté – Jumbo Eye Pencil (Bubble 07)

I got this eye pencil before back in November 2016, I still like it. It blends easily and the color is pretty nice and has a nice shimmer.

COVER FX – Perfect Pencil Concealer (Medium)

I never really tried any Cover FX products so I was excited to try this out. It’s very useful for little touchups and defining the brow arch, I wouldn’t say it’s good for larger areas like the circles under the eyes.

IMG_20180318_231954

I forgot to mention, it’s blendable.

IMG_20180318_232027.jpg

Morgan Taylor Nail Polish (Heaven Sent)

Subscribers will receive one of three colors and I got this white one. The formula is a bit too runny, I wasn’t expecting that so it was a messy experience for me. It needs plenty of coats to reach the desired shade since it’s really too sheer, I didn’t like it that much.

Unani il-lumnate Milk Cleanser

This item is labeled as Glossy Fave so this may vary for subscribers but I’m really glad I got this cleanser. I got it before back in October 2016 and it’s been my favorite cleanser for a pretty long time, it leaves my face soft and fresh.

Overall, after my disappointment on February box, this month products redeems itself and I’m back in love with GlossyBox.

Sephora Mini Haul

IMG_20180317_230833

Last week I was in UAE finishing my Eid outfits since I’ll be larger by the time ramadhan ends. When I was done, I had the time to check out Sephora since we don’t really have the store in my country. I honestly wanted to understand the hype behind Fenty Beauty products so I decided to get couple of items from that brand to test them out.

Fenty Beauty – KILLAWATT Freestyle Highlighter (Trophy Wife)

IMG_20180317_231058

I wouldn’t go for such a bright metallic golden color but I’ve seen so many people I follow praising it, I thought of trying it out. I don’t know if I can use it as a normal highlighter unless I keep it light but I could use it as an eyeshadow because it has a really pretty shimmer.

IMG_20180317_231121

Fenty Beauty – MATTEMOISELLE Plush Matte Lipstick (S1ngle)

IMG_20180317_231223

Lipsticks were the new products in this brand and I was more interested in trying them out. I chose this nude with slight pink shade for an everyday look, it looks too natural and the formula is very creamy and didn’t dry out my lips. It’s also long lasting so consider me a fan, I’m in love with it.

IMG_20180317_231248

Yves Saint Laurent – Les Sahariennes Bronzer (5 Ambre)

IMG_20180317_230952

Honestly I wasn’t planning on getting this but the lady working in Sephora was recommending it to me and I tried it on my hand and I liked it. It works well as a contour and it gives that natural look after applying it, it has a really nice powdery matte finish and also blurs the skin so it hides any pores or imperfections. It blends easily and has a slight shimmer which faded after awhile after I tried it out. The package includes a brush and soft sponge which I haven’t used because I’m more used to my own brush collection.

Have you ever tried any of these products ? Let me know what do you think.

More GOSH Makeup Haul

IMG_0304_Fotor

We are starting the new year with a makeup post, I need something to distract me from the madness I went through when I played Doki Doki Literature Club … J̴͍͖̥̝͌͊͑u̵̢̥̥͌͝s̸̲͌̀͜t̶̘̳̪͎̉͆ ̵̺̍̐͌M̷͚͚̥͂̀̕͠o̷̞͙͆n̶̬͔͖̫̓̈́͆͋i̵̧̞̥̪̿̌̔͠k̸̺̤̈͝ä̶̜̬͎́̈̔ͅ. Anyway I’ve tried GOSH products before and I was very impressed so I decided to try more products from this brand plus the L’Oreal Paradise Mascara since it was over-hyped by my sister.

GOSH Contour’n Strobe Kit

I’ve been using Kat Von D Shade+Light contour palette and theBalm Bahama Mama bronzer for years so in the spirit of change, I got this palette. I got it in medium shade since I’m Arab so I have a naturally tanned skin and I tried the contour part. I wouldn’t say it’s as good as Shade+Light palette but it takes time to reach the contour level I’m aiming for. I also tried the highlighter on the inner corner of my eyes and I noticed it’s not too glowy like theBlam Manizer I’m more used to, it has a shimmer but subtle. I would say it gives a natural glow but not exactly that much to notice. I know it’s going to take me a while to get used to it, it’s an alright palette I guess.

GOSH Contour Brush

Along with the palette I decided to try the brush as well. I have a brush collection from E.L.F and it doesn’t contain a proper contour brush. The brush is almost similar to those brushes I mentioned, quite soft and picks up the color pretty well. I used it with the contour I mentioned above and it blended pretty well, I like it

GOSH Catchy Eyes Mascara

I’m a total mascara hoarder, I just can’t stop collecting them. This mascara is AMAZING, the bristles are almost similar to Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara I tried before and loved. The wand is a bit curved so it instantly lifts the lashes from the first coat and it separated the lashes to keep them looking natural. I absolutely love this mascara.

L’Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

Now this mascara is overly hyped, and my sister just dropped it in my shopping bag with no words but “try it“. The packaging honestly reminded me of Too Faced Better Than Sex, also the wand … It was exactly like that mascara and I researched about it just so I want to make sure that I wasn’t the only one who felt that, and I found this article from Allure about it. Basically … it’s exactly like Too Faced Better Than Sex so I’m not going to complain about it because I’ve been obsessed with that mascara for years.

Overall, I don’t want to judge the contour palette too hard because I’m more used to another brand which I’ve been using for years so I’ll keep using it for awhile before I give it my final judgement. The mascara is absolutely amazing, I want to use it everyday … all day.

OwlCrate – Find Me In The Forest

owlcrate

I’m very sad to write this review because this is my last OwlCrate and it hurts that I had to cancel. I was considering donating some of my books so I could have more room for books on my shelves and then I could probably reactivate my subscription since it’s honestly my favorite subscription box. Anyway let’s get into this post, so October theme was Find Me In The Woods.

IMG_20171025_223325_Fotor

Cabeswater Candle from In the Wick of Time

I’ll never say no to candles, I love collecting them for some reason. This candle is inspired by The Raven Cycle and it smells absolutely amazing, I didn’t think moss and mint would smell this good together.

Exclusive Harry Potter Mug from Cara Kozik

This is the first time OwlCrate sends a mug in their boxes and it’s gorgeous. I’m a Harry Potter fan so this made me so happy, the design illustrates the forbidden forest from Hagrid’s cottage with Buckbeak in the pumpkin fields then unicorn and the centaur, finally the Weasley’s flying car and Aragog the Arachnid. I’m in love with this and I instantly took it to my office so I can have my morning coffee with it.

Princess Mononoke Art Print by Audra Auclair

I’m so happy they included a Ghibli related item, this print looks so amazing. I was so impressed by the designs of Audra Auclair, they are so beautiful so please if you have time just check them.

IMG_20171025_223242_Fotor

Sherwood Forest Loose Tea from Riddle’s Tea Shop

Robin Hood was one the first anime I watched in Arabic dub, reading the name of this tea made me happy for some reason. I’m not a tea blend fan but Earl Grey would be my favorite tea so I don’t mind trying this blend.

Magnetic Bookmarks From Craftedvan

I love Craftedvan designs, they are always too cute and adorable. These bookmarks are from Where the Wild Things Are and they are so cute.

Coaster Illustrated from Kristin Askland

A Mug, tea and a coaster in one box, thank you OwlCrate. This coaster is so beautiful, it goes well with the new mug and it’s a great addition for my office desk.

IMG_20171025_223450_Fotor

As usual the book came with a lovely letter from the author and also a signed bookplate. Also a pack of seeds, it didn’t specify what sort of plants it’ll grow so it’s all a mystery.

and finally book of the month …

For nearly a century, the Nomeolvides women have tended the grounds of La Pradera, the lush estate gardens that enchant guests from around the world. They’ve also hidden a tragic legacy: if they fall in love too deeply, their lovers vanish. But then, after generations of vanishings, a strange boy appears in the gardens.

The boy is a mystery to Estrella, the Nomeolvides girl who finds him, and to her family, but he’s even more a mystery to himself; he knows nothing more about who he is or where he came from than his first name. As Estrella tries to help Fel piece together his unknown past, La Pradera leads them to secrets as dangerous as they are magical in this stunning exploration of love, loss, and family.

I actually love OwlCrate exclusive cover more than the original. The summary sounds so interesting and obviously I’m all about the magic part, I’ve read some reviews of this book to be a slow-burner so we’ll see how it goes when I start reading it.

Overall, this would be my favorite box in 2017 from OwlCrate. Everything in this box is perfect and I love it.
