My 2017 in One Post

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah nothing happened.
Alright I’m rolling with this intro …

2017 is wrapping up and I feel this year has passed by pretty fast. To sum it up, for me it was a year of self-discovery. I’ve had massive personality changes throughout this year as well, I guess it’s also called growing up.

Here’s a lesson I learned about marriage. First year it’ll be all lovey-dovey, romantic words and all the cheesy love you can possibly handle. Second year, it’ll be full of arguments and tears. Basically on the verge of splitting up because you’ve finally seen each other’s good and bad habits, this is where patience come in place. By the third year, this storm should’ve passed and now you know your spouse pretty well, his/her likes and dislikes and the habits.

I’ve got into makeup more which is something completely surprising to people who knew me since I’ve always hated it.

Aside from makeup, I’ve revived my old steam account and I got into gaming again. It feels so good to get back, I’ve been playing older games for quite some time.

I’ll post more gaming content, that’s for sure. I was thinking to post about a free game I tried every month, should be fun to try different games that are not normally within my usual choice range. My greatest achievement in 2017 was creating a radio show and airing it for three months now. It was definitely a huge step for me out of my comfort zone, I feel very proud that I did it.

Speaking of change, I decided to go back to my original hair color which is dark brown -almost black, it’s been nearly 3 years since I’ve seen my real hair color as I stayed blonde during these years. I also removed some of my piercings and kept my ears looking more simple and less … gothic ? I feel like I’m ready to change myself and return back to the roots when life was less hectic.

change is good

Happy new year everyone ❤

Assassin’s Creed Origins and Cuphead

I haven’t really got the feeling that I miss gaming until I opened my neglected Steam account. I’ve always stayed gaming in older consoles because newer games didn’t interest me anymore, and I’ve posted every month about games I would revisit that I really enjoyed playing. I recently decided to try Assassin’s Creed newest installment since I’ve always been a fan, I couldn’t get it for PS4 because it’s being abused by my brothers in law and sister in law kids that’s why I thought of getting it on my laptop instead.

I opened my old steam account and it just hit me, I really miss gaming. I miss the thrill of starting a new game, the hours I spent trying to get an achievement and the frustration of losing. I went on and bought the game, while it was downloading I was browsing through games. Some I know that I tried and beated and some were completely new to me.

It’s been awhile since I played an Assassin’s Creed game, I didn’t exactly play Syndicate more than 2 hours.  I also didn’t like the movie so my life lacked a little bit of assassins action for quite some time.

I’ve been playing Assassin’s Creed Origins lately and I’m really enjoying it, I would say it’s more gore-y than the other Assassin’s Creed games and that’s probably the one thing I noticed through out my gameplay so far.

I liked the leveling system, it gives the player more area to cover in the open world of Assassin’s creed in order to upgrade the gear so it doesn’t only follows the main quests but offers side quests in between to gain XP and that would allow the player to proceed the story not under-leveled. I would admit that I took some time to get used to controlling Senu (The Eagle) so I could locate the upgrade items and materials but it’s definitely something new from the usual Assassin’s Creed’s eagle vision, now it’s literally an eagle.

Moving on to the next game … The hate of my life …

I have a hate love relationship with this game.

Hype kill games, it’s concept I’ve seen repeatedly in newly released games. There’s so much hype around a certain game but when it gets released, everything seem disappointing as it didn’t reach the expectations that the hype created. I’ve seen so many games fall into that trap specially No Man’s Sky, even though I enjoyed it to some extent. Let’s talk about Cuphead … It lives above this so-called hype.

I’m not going to say how amazing this game is, or about the music and art style because it seriously above the word “Amazing” and I can’t possibly describe it in one post. I grew up watching those old cartoons with the same art style so obviously I would appreciate everything offered in this game. Also I won’t talk about the game difficulty because …. Honestly I broke two of my controllers since I started this game and it took me 45 minutes just to beat the first run ‘n gun level.

Will you get frustrated while playing Cupead ?
Is it worth getting ?
Totally and not because everyone is talking about it, it’s such a good well-made game.

Weird Finds, Rock Show and Messy Tables

I know I’ve been milking this but I wanted to share some weird stuff I found in Thailand in my last visit.

I would actually buy a penis soap as a joke for a friend, it was really hilarious for me when I saw penises, butts and boobs as soap.

Coming from an Arab country, we use a water spray which is always next to the toilet. Basically this was a spray but from below and it freaked me out, you can control the water pressure and heat as well. My son was in the bathroom pressing the buttons of this butt spray thing and he increased the heat to maximum and I didn’t realize it till I used it.

Moving on to the next topic, the rock show I wrote got aired on the 5th and I felt so proud of myself.

I had to rewrite the first episode though because I wasn’t happy with the content flow and we got the idea of making every episode focused on a band or an artist. I was so nervous hearing it on the radio even though I didn’t record myself as the presenter and just wrote it but I felt this is my baby, I created this show and chose the songs. I was happy that people actually listened to it and enjoyed the music, I told the director to include listeners suggestions in the next episodes which should be fun to show engagements, and friends tell friends and so on.

And finally on the motherhood update…

My son apparently likes eating on his own now and leaving the table this messy, I could say it’s a progress. Hopefully I’ll start teaching him how to use a spoon and fork soon.

Hope you enjoyed this small life update post and have a nice day.

Thailand’s Safari World

Recently I was In Thailand and I visited this amazing zoo named Safari World. The reason why I am so in love with this place, it’s because I was so happy to see the animals aren’t in cages and have this much space to roam. We drove around looking at the animals from the car  and they seemed in a very good condition and it honestly made me so happy. Anyway enough with my rambling here are some photos.

My Trip To Thailand

Recently I’ve been going through some life bumps and mostly from work, I needed to take a break and just breath  My husband suggested I would go to Thailand with them, because he wanted to take his mother for checkup and might take his siblings as well. I agreed even though, I don’t really enjoy going with my in laws anywhere to be honest because they are the type that complains too much and I hate it.

My grandmother and mother tagged along later so we became a big family going on a vacation, I would love to describe the flight but I’ll sum it up with … it was horrible and I’ll post why in another post. It’s my second time going to Thailand actually so I was already familiar with the culture, the weather and the weird driving lanes.

It rained almost every night and I LOVE IT, the weather was sometimes humid and sometimes too hot to walk out. I didn’t really put in my mind that I’ll be going out to shop or have fun because the main reason we were there was a medical reason so I didn’t even spend time with my husband, I went out with my son and my in laws mostly while he had to take my grandmother and his mother to hospitals.

Surprisingly, I did have fun and I felt refreshed also in a better state of mind. I wish I could’ve stayed longer though but not with my in laws, probably just have my alone time with my husband at least. I wanted to talk about how amazing their zoo is, the Safari World in the next post for sure but I’ll probably schedule OwlCrate review first so stay tuned for that.

I’m Back

I’m back … In case you didn’t notice my disappearance, hi 🙂

I’ve been away for couple of weeks because I was in Thailand, I stayed for about a week there and I’ll post about it in the upcoming posts. I wanted to talk about my blog posts scheduling, I’m planning to make it twice a week which will make my posting flow more regular.

I didn’t post my September favorites and I’m sorry for that, I just can’t round up the products I would consider my favorite because of my recent trip honestly … Also I’ve been lazy. I promise I’ll get back to posting more with a regular schedule every Monday and Thursday, OwlCrate September box and my Thailand trip will be up in the upcoming posts.

Thank you and have a nice day ❤

Creating a Radio Show

Recently I mentioned how I’ve been asked to work in the radio station, it was something out of my comfort zone so I was nervous to accept it. Everyone was literally pushing me to go for it so I gave in and started working there as part time. I felt it’s a good opportunity for me to do something different and go out of my character for once, part of me was burned out from being the IT field for so long.

The producer contacted me few times to suggest songs to air, I didn’t know he was making me choose to play it live instantly. I said few and he sent me a picture that the songs are live at the moment.

It was evening and I tuned my phone to the station frequency and heard my playlist being played and obviously freaked out. The producer later informed me that his boss wants us to create a show to be aired and I got so excited to work on this.

In the past week, I was working with this guy on this radio show. We were choosing the name of it, writing scripts and I created a playlist for the demo episode so we can record it and show the big guys.

So clearly the radio show was going to be about Rock music and it diverse from there to punk, soft and alternative. It was an interesting idea to them because they’ve never done something like this, basically the head of that department has that principle of “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it” that’s why they never thought of developing it.

Everything is going well so far and hopefully I’ll have a date for my show to be aired, I’m very excited about this.

Here’s the second playlist if you are interested.
