Fishing Resort, known in Japan and Korea as Family Fishing (ファミリーフィッシング), is a fishing video game developed by Prope for the Wii home console. It features 8 different areas for the player to fish and do several “activities”. Stores located in areas allow people to purchase items for fishing needs. Players can also take a cruiser and explore the ocean surrounding the “island” where the game takes place.
This game is one of my guilty pleasures, I’ve listed it before as one of my favorite games as well in an older post. I sometimes enjoy games with no story-line and no ending, just something like this game to relax. I’ve invested so many hours playing this game that my rank is currently World Champion.
The characters offer customization in the beginning and later on you can buy clothes and accessories using points you get from fishing. There are plenty locations to visit and obviously fish there, depending on the area from salt water fishes to swamp or fresh water ones. There’re quests in each location to challenge the player, along with weekly fishing contests.
Other than that, the game doesn’t offer much apart from the 200 fish you can catch and fill your aquarium. I would consider this game a good time waster but not necessary for everyone.
