My subscription boxes list is decreasing again, MerLady box has left the list. I got an email that it got cancelled for no reason really which made me confused, it included a link to resubscribe but I think I’ll hold it off for awhile. OwlCrate is the only box left that I’m subscribed to, don’t know if I’ll cancel it anytime soon. Anyway on to the unboxing of OwlCrate June’s box “Make It Out Alive” and let me just say … It’s definitely green.
Bookmark inspired by A Court of Thornes and Roses from Hey Atlas Creative
I love collecting bookmarks specially ones that have book quotes. This bookmark is double sided and I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture of the other side but it’s written “You do not fear … You do not falter. You do not yeild.“
Magnet inspired by An Ember in the Ashes created from Little Inklings Design
I’m so in love with this magnet because the quote written on it “‘Fear is only your enemy if you allow it to be”
Archie McPhee Zombie Sleep Mask
This mask is both scary and funny at the same time. I don’t use sleeping masks nor do I know someone who does so … I’ll probably give it to my son to play with.
Divergent inspired Bathbomb from Fizzy Fairy Apothecary
If you know me, you’ll know how obsessed I am with bathbombs so I was excited to see this item. Love the colors, I didn’t use it yet but I saw from others that the bathbomb got a charm hidden within which sorts you in your faction. Wonder which one I’ll get.
Patch inspired by The Giver from Laserbrain Patch Co
It looks cool, I’d love to iron it somewhere but I don’t really have clothing or something that fits to have patches sadly.
To my surprise, OwlCrate sent out two books this time which honestly made me happy.
New World Rising by Jennifer Wilson
Since witnessing her parents’ murders at the age of eleven, Phoenix’s only purpose in life has been to uphold her mother’s dying words- to be strong and survive. But surviving outside of The Walls- outside of The Sanctuary- is more like a drawn-out death sentence. A cruel and ruthless city, Tartarus is run by the Tribes whose motto is simple, “Join or die.”
Refusing to join and determined to live, Phoenix fights to survive in this savage world. But who can she trust, when no one can be trusted? Not even herself.
It’s the first book from a 3 book series and judging from the summary it seems pretty intense and I’m excited to start reading it.
Finally the main book of this month, as usual came with a bookplate and also a letter from the author.
The SandCastle Empire by Kayla Olson
Before the war, Eden’s life was easy. Then the revolution happened, and everything changed.
Now a powerful group called the Wolfpack controls the earth and its resources. And even though Eden has lost everything to them, she refuses to die by their hands. She knows the coordinates to the only neutral ground left in the world, a place called Sanctuary Island, and she is desperate to escape to its shores.
Eden finally reaches the island and meets others resistant to the Wolves. But the solace is short-lived when one of Eden’s new friends goes missing. Braving the jungle in search of their lost ally, they quickly discover Sanctuary is filled with lethal traps and an enemy they never expected.
This island might be deadlier than the world Eden left behind, but surviving it is the only thing that stands between her and freedom.
Like the previous book, it also sounds pretty intense and exciting. I like the dystopia theme going in this box, I definitely enjoyed the items and the whole green theme.
Hope you enjoyed this post and have a great day.
