Albums That Changed My Life – Pt 2

It took me time to write this post since I published the first part by the beginning of the month since this part was my dark times. I stopped the previous post by the Britney Spears album and it was around ninth grade now this is when I started to game more and practically married PS2. By that time I was really into Fatal Fatal series to be more precise the second part Crimson Butterfly and that’s when I got introduced to Japanese music so by 10th grade I was into…

Tsukiko Amano – 天龍 (Tenryuu: Heaven Dragon)

Tsukiko Amano was probably the first Japanese artist I was into and then I continued to explore J-pop and got into BoA, Utada Hikaru and Mika Nakashima. Apart from these artists, I started playing Final Fantasy X-2 and discovered one of my favorite artists which was Jade Villalon and I was obsessed with every album she released. The album that mostly influenced me and I related to the most was..

Sweetbox -Jade

I love every track in this album and I still love repeating this album whenever I miss Jade’s music. Her lyrics always seemed to describe every moment I was going through during the time I listen to one of her songs so I would say all her albums got an impact on my life even after she left Sweetbox, I practically grown with her music from teen to young adult.

Moving on to college years, I was getting into anime and J-pop more. I found YUI and her passion for music, made me love the guitar and I was obsessed with her lyrics (after reading the translation of course)

YUI – I Loved Yesterday

This album is my all-time favorite along with Can’t Buy My Love, these two albums will forever be on the top of my J-pop albums list.

Now the next two albums were both released as a Best album and I chose them because they both contain most of my favorite songs of this artist and they are …

Kana Nishino – Love Collection ~Mint & Pink~

I know some people call her Kana Swiftino because of her lyrics but I honestly liked her music. I would say generally Japanese music took over my  years in college and then something personal happened to me which made me lose my interest in Japanese and Korean music. I was also going through depression which made me drop out of college so naturally I would switch to something more fitting..

Our Last Night – Oak Island

I started to get into more rock bands but also alternative like Digital Daggers mostly my favorite album The Devil Within so I would say this album and Oak Island are on the same time. I was recommended this album by a really close friend of mine and I’m glad I listened to him.

Digital Daggers – The Devil Within

These two albums were the highlight of the year after college, probably because it described my personal struggles and feelings perfectly.

Now finally to my recent obsession …

Bring Me The Horizon – That’s The Spirit

Love love love this album, speaks perfectly for me and I love every track of it. It has the perfect blend of angry and soft rock, and show off Oliver’s vocals flawlessly, I highly recommend checking it out.

I guess that’s it, I wanted to mention more albums honestly because I’m a total music addict but these are the most notable ones I can say that affected my life in one way or another. Let me know in the comments what albums that changed your life ?

Have a great day

      • I’d say the whole album but if I have to choose any, then I think it’d be between Doomed, True Friends, Throne, Avalanche, Follow You and Drown. It’s almost impossible to choose.

What’s yours? Also, have you heard the songs: Empire (Let them sing) and Can you feel my heart from their other album Sempiternal?

      • of course! Can you feel my heart is one of my favorites because it has that one part I’ll forever relate to “I’m scared to get close and I hate being alone, I long for that feeling to not feel at all. The higher i get, the lower I’ll sink.. i can’t drown my demons they know how to swim”
