OwlCrate is here finally, it was sent later than usual due to some issues with the shipping but it came anyway and I’m happy that’s all it matters so on to the unboxing.
October theme was Once Upon a Dream..
You can never have enough pins from these subscription boxes, the pin showcases the theme of the month which has the same image as the information card.
Wizard of OZ passport notebook by The Unemployed Philosopher’s Guild
Lovely notebook and quite helpful since it’s small and can be be kept in a bag, on the back it’s written “There’s no place like home” and it has cute decorations on the papers.
Fabric Button Bookmark by My Heart, My Tribe
This fabric button bookmark came in different type of fabric and I got it in black and white plaid design. I do enjoy collecting bookmarks, I wouldn’t say no for more of these.
Charm Bracelet by The Geeky Cauldron
A cute charm bracelet inspired by The Sleeping Beauty as it has the spindle of the story, it’s an exclusive item so I don’t think it’s being sold anywhere at the moment.
Neverland Beanie by WHOSITS & WHATSITS
I really love beanies so I was really excited to see this in the box. The feather looking nice on the side and the beanie slouches to the back, definitely my favorite item in this box.
Moving on to main item of the box which is the book.
In the enchanted kingdom of Brooklyn, the fashionable people put on cute shoes, go to parties in warehouses, drink on rooftops at sunset, and tell themselves they’ve arrived. A whole lot of Brooklyn is like that now―but not Vassa’s working-class neighborhood.
In Vassa’s neighborhood, where she lives with her stepmother and bickering stepsisters, one might stumble onto magic, but stumbling out again could become an issue. Babs Yagg, the owner of the local convenience store, has a policy of beheading shoplifters―and sometimes innocent shoppers as well. So when Vassa’s stepsister sends her out for light bulbs in the middle of night, she knows it could easily become a suicide mission.
But Vassa has a bit of luck hidden in her pocket, a gift from her dead mother. Erg is a tough-talking wooden doll with sticky fingers, a bottomless stomach, and a ferocious cunning. With Erg’s help, Vassa just might be able to break the witch’s curse and free her Brooklyn neighborhood. But Babs won’t be playing fair….
As usual there was a handwritten letter from the author as well as a signed bookplate which I always stick inside the book and a cute temporary tattoo inspired by the book.
Overall, I felt this month box wasn’t as good as the previous ones but I did like all the items in the box specially the beanie. Next month theme will Wonderland ..
