OwlCrate (Darkness)

OwlCrate is here and it’s packed with amazing goodies, it was heavier than the previous boxes. The theme of this month is Darkness and my inner emo is excited for this.

A passport to a new world which included an expert to the book Moon Chosen which I honestly abused already in taking photos like I’m some sort of photographer with a caption of song lyrics.

A promotional bookmark for Six of Crows with a beautiful quote from the book.

daBomb Fortune Telling Bomb, it has an answer of yes or no after it fizzes. I’m really excited to try it because as you know I’m obsessed with bath bombs.

Celaena’s Cake tin candle inspired by Throne of Glass, it’s made by The Melting Library. It smells delicious.

Remade, so this is an episodic type of book which seems like an interesting concept and the one included in this box was the first episode. You can subscribe to continue following this series.

Every minute, 108 people die. This fall, in one of those minutes, twenty-three of those deaths will be teenagers. Now they are humanity’s last hope for survival. Awakened in a post-apocalyptic world and hunted by mechanical horrors, these teens search for answers amidst the ruins of civilization. Fate, love, and loyalty face off in this adrenaline-pumping YA adventure.

A zippered pouch from the book Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children made by Out of Print. It’s a quite sturdy canvas made pouch and has a quote from the book, it’s rather large to be a pencil case so I’m going to use it for my makeup when I’m travelling.

Finally the book of the month, Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake.

In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.

The last queen standing gets the crown.

This is an interesting plot because I’ve never read a book that didn’t have a good character so I’m really excited to start reading it. I really enjoyed the book from last month box so this would be a good change of genre.

And of course the box included a cute letter from the author with a map of the kingdom from the book on the back of it, also a signed bookplate sticker.

Overall, this box would be my favorite so far. I love everything in this box and of course the whole Darkness concept. You can subscribe to this box by going here.

Next month theme would be Once Upon a Dream.

  1. […] I’ve been scheduling posts in the past week as I’m writing this on last two days of August, I really missed blogging like this. I was busy in the past two months working on a project at my work place and because of that I didn’t have time to focus on my blog as before so my posting times were a bit inconsistent, I’m planning to get right back to a posting schedule and hopefully commit to it. Anyway to the main point of this post, OwlCrate my favorite subscription box. This month the theme was quite interesting and I was hoping it would be as good as Darkness box. […]
