4 Hours Into Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

I’ve been playing No Man’s Sky for almost 6 hours and I honestly got bored from it. Don’t get me wrong the game is fun and I love how massive it is but it gets tedious after awhile and it gives the feeling like it’s lacking something, I need a goal or a purpose in a game or at least some side quests from time to time. I wrote a post on Creators.co explaining No Man’s Sky overall here if you are interested or you can check this excellent review post from The Well-Red Mage blog.

So I recently decided to try Deus Ex, giving newer games another chance in impressing me. I’ve never really played the previous Deus Ex games so I didn’t know what to expect in this game, I’ve only seen the screenshots and the trailer.

The year is 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution and the “Aug Incident”—an event in which mechanically augmented humans became uncontrollable and lethally violent. Unbeknownst to the public, the affected augmented received implanted technology designed to control them by the shadowy Illuminati, which is abused by a rogue member of the group to discredit augmentations completely. The Illuminati successfully conceal the truth behind rumors and disinformation, while the augmented are now outcasts from normal humans in an era of “mechanical apartheid”.

The player character is Adam Jensen, an augmented former private security officer now working with a special Interpol unit to capture a terrorist group of augmented humans. However, Jensen also secretly works for the Juggernaut Collective, a hacker group helping him to confront the Illuminati.

The intro started explaining the past events of the story-line and wow I didn’t expect it to be 15 minutes long so I basically didn’t need to play the previous games now that I saw this long intro of what happened before, now that I’m up-to-date and ready to get into the game.

The game starts straight-forward in the first mission but then it spreads out in different side quests along with the main quest and that’s when I started getting lost. The game has a vast open world and I’ve been confused between fps or third person view at some points of the game. Graphics are absolutely stunning as I’m been playing on pc, it looks more of an action movie in my opinion.

So far, the game is interesting even though I’m not exactly a sci-fi fan but I’ll bite. Have you played this game yet? What are your thoughts about it?
